Losing my bloginity

Hello. Welcome to my first ever blog post. I feel dangerously trendy.

So I arrived in Singapore yesterday morning. My last night in the UK was an interesting experience... who'd have thought packing your whole life into 3 bags and clearing out a flat would be such time-consuming tasks? Not me. Needless to say I arrived back at Mum and Dad's half an hour late in a state of semi-panic having not slept a single second. I guess I'll know better next time I attempt to move country.

Before I continue I'd really like to say thanks to everyone who called / texted / emailed / messaged me before I left. I was very touched, and I'm sorry that I was mostly unable to reply. I had intended to call around and say proper goodbyes, but when it became a direct choice between that and putting clothes into suitcases I had to shift my priorities somewhat...

Anyway, the good people at Qantas obviously thought I should be punished for putting so little time into my packing so they decided to leave my bags at Heathrow. Cool! I got some compensation from the airline which I spent on a good supply of deodorant to tide me over. And the bags showed up last night so now I can wear clean pants and everything. Nice.

I'm going to save my impressions of Singapore for another post as it's a nice day in a new country and I'm inclined not to spend too much of it in a hotel room staring at my laptop. But rest assured that everything is good so far, with the exception of the cheese platter at breakfast which was average at best. But then you can't have everything I suppose. Oh and yes, it's BLOODY hot. I've actually found it okay so far but I suspect I'll have a near-drowning-in-my-own-sweat experience before the week is up.

Meeting up with the Arsenal Supporter's club tonight to watch the Liverpool game. Could be fun. Come on the Arse! Have a nice Saturday y'all.

Brillo, great to hear it is all going well and I seem to be the first to comment on your blog! Props

Anyway mate, take it easy - drowning in your own sweat doesn't sound too fun, but I guess you've been through that before!

Arsenal supporters club in Singapore are really cools guys, I just ran a charity campaign for David Rocastle, dunno if you saw it - www.rocky7.co.uk, but anyway they helped us promote it and seemed like really great Arsenal supporters, so at least you'll have a little bit of red and white over there with you.

Be in touch mate.

I can't believe you've gone. Although I did see several women crying openly in the street and I wondered why. Now I know.

anyway, will be thinking of you, hope your house hunting goes smoothly.

I feel like I should leave a comment so you know that I have taken time out to read what you are up to...at best...dull...

Seriously though, there is NOTHING worse than a poor cheese platter to greet you in the morning. Really pisses me off.

Brillbo, come home already. I'm just off for a bit of 5-a-side down Mill Hill way... sure I can't tempt you?

Glad you got there safely - but you owe me a tenner. I told you your bags would go walkies at Heathrow. Serves you right for going to Pingpongapore.

Regarding the deodorant, you may remember I recommended deodorant gel. Well I stand by that - you may wish to shower in it. I hope the humidity puts you off Singapore and you decide to come home. And while I'm here, may I just say it's about time Levy came home too. I feel like the mother penguin in March of the Penguins.

I beat the computer 1-0 at pro-evo by the way.

Keep well brother.

Good to see you get on the blogosphere Dave, though I can't believe you've already associated yourself with the Arsenal supporters club.

Good luck with the settling in!
